Traveling Caseworker

Avannaata Municipality is seeking a Traveling Caseworker for the Benefits Area, starting on March 1, 2026, or by mutual agreement.

The position does not involve managerial responsibility but reports to the Head of Department in the Benefits area, which organizationally falls under the Family Department in the Administration for Family.

The goal of the position is to improve case processing tasks within the social sector regarding the elderly and disability pensioners, including ensuring that case processing is conducted in accordance with the applicable legislation in the social area.

You will join the travel team in a newly created position as a consultant and caseworker in the area. You will be part of a well-functioning department that is continuously developing.

It is appreciated in the department that case management for adults is further strengthened in Avannaata Municipality, and the goal is to increase the level of service.

Travel activities will take place year-round, and you will have your permanent base in Ilulissat, in the department for social consultants/caseworkers. Here, social workers/caseworkers are located. You will collaborate with 2 traveling consultants for children and youth.

Tasks and responsibilities:

You have a background as a trained social worker or social consultant, or you have experience and have furthered your education in the field.

·Has experience as a social consultant and caseworker. Experience with the benefits area in accordance with the Inatsisartut Act.

·Is well-versed in legislative material and is able to teach.

Can engage in collaboration, is good at teamwork, and is able to involve others in your work.

·Easy to contact and skilled in advising

Focus on opportunities, not on limitations

·Good collaboration skills, including in interdisciplinary organizations

·Independent, structured, ability for coordinated planning, excels in case follow-up

High professional engagement and flexible

Bilingual (Greenlandic/Danish) will be preferred.

Competencies:

·Trained social worker

·Preferably bilingual: Greenlandic and Danish, orally and in writing

·Insight into legislative conditions within the social sector

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and other employment conditions will be in accordance with the collective agreement in force at the time of employment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received consent from the applicant, and when this has been obtained from the National Police.

Housing will be provided, for which rent is paid according to the applicable rules at any given time.
