The School

You will join a school with approximately 1,000 students from grades 1 to 10, including 9 special classes. We are a brand-new school in development, focusing on 21st-century skills, project-based learning, team collaboration, quality development, and enhancing students' academic levels in the coming years.

The school's vision is to foster students who are creative, collaborative, critical thinkers, digitally literate, possess strong communication skills, and can work interdisciplinarily.

Our vision for learning environments is to increase academic proficiency, stimulate individual learning and well-being, support alternative learning methods, and create a teaching environment that caters to each student's needs, inspiring a desire to learn.

Currently, the school has 92 staff members across 4 departments: grades 1-3, 4-7, 8-10, and a special department. There is a principal, three vice-principals, and four grade leaders with a coordinator for special classes. These are full-time positions. Read more about Atuarfik Inussuk here:

We are looking for:

Currently, we are seeking a Grade 1 teacher with diverse competencies in English, Danish, history, religion, science, and social studies. You should be prepared for close team collaboration with other teachers in the team and department and maintain close contact with parents.

Criminal and Child Record Check:

This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal and child record check. According to the law, employment can only commence once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child record checks. Therefore, the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child record from the national police and the criminal record from the police.

The child record is obtained by the municipality with consent from the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.

Salary and Employment Conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the current agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization. Employment will include a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

The position may include staff housing, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc., are payable according to the current rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent staff housing is not immediately available upon commencement, temporary housing will be offered to employees entitled to it, with rent and utilities payable as per the above. The start date depends on the availability of staff housing. Relocation travel and moving expenses are covered according to current regulations.
