Nutrition Assistant/Kitchen Assistant

Meeqqerivik “Nanuaraq” is looking for a nutrition assistant/kitchen assistant to start on January 1, 2026, or as soon as possible by agreement. Meeqqerivik “Nanuaraq” caters to 30 children aged 0-6 years, with a total of 10 staff members, including the manager.

We expect:

• Relevant industry education.
• Knowledge of allergies and ability to prepare special meals.
• Good teamwork skills.
• Ability to work closely with users.
• Honesty towards the municipality, management, and colleagues.
• Ability to innovate and take initiative.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing nutritious meals suitable for 52 infants/children.
• Maintaining kitchen cleanliness.
• Ensuring cleanliness of freezers, refrigerators, and cooking equipment.
• Monthly meal planning.
• Procuring cost-effective food in collaboration with the manager.
• Adhering to the rules of Kommune Kujalleq's childcare facilities and staff regulations.
• Following guidelines and pedagogical principles.
• Welcoming new children and parents.
• Cooking with children as part of their development.
• Shopping.
• Managing the food budget with the manager.
• Procuring food from external sources.
• Monthly negotiations with suppliers.
• Serving Greenlandic dishes suitable for children.

Criminal record check:

This position is subject to the law on obtaining a criminal record check for work with children. Employment can only commence after the municipality receives the criminal record check. The decision on who will be appointed to this position will include consideration of the criminal record check.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Government, the Ministry of Finance, and the Union of Food Industry Workers.
