The position of deputy school principal at Avanersuup School is vacant for appointment from August 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
The position of vice principal at the school in Qaanaaq is vacant and will be filled as soon as possible or by mutual agreement.
Avanersuup Atuarfia is a school that focuses on learning and well-being, the development of the core mission, including work on inclusion, to create the best school for the students. Avanersuup Atuarfia also places a high value on collaboration with parents to achieve the overall goals. The school has about 100 students and 15 staff members. There is also collaboration with the schools in the settlements of Siorapaluk, Qeqertat, and Savissivik.
As the deputy principal at Avanersuup Atuarfia, you will have the following overarching tasks:

Ordering of materials and supervision of the maintenance of teaching materials

Supervision of the maintenance of premises and buildings, including furnishings.

The practical organization of the final exams and term exams

Fire supervision, oversight of technical equipment

Substitute supervision
-
Student cases
·The student residence
Supervision and contact with the village schools
It is expected that you as an applicant:
-Is a trained teacher
-Has experience in school leadership
-Is development and results-oriented, proactive, and energetic
-Has knowledge of TRIO, TEA, TABULEX scheduling and SchoolIntra
Employment will take place according to the agreement between the Greenlandic Government and the Union of Teachers in Greenland, IMAK.
Applicants coming from a civil servant position in Greenland will retain the right to this form of employment.
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation travel and moving expenses, are in accordance with the agreements in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the Union of Teachers in Greenland, IMAK.
Employment may also take place on special fixed-term conditions according to an agreement between the Government of Greenland and IMAK, whereby a severance payment of 18,000 DKK in annual base amount as of April 1, 1991, 19,818.29 DKK as of April 1, 2012, and an annual vacation travel allowance for the employee and their family is provided.
Housing is provided, for which payment is made according to the applicable rules at any given time.
This position is covered by the law requiring the collection of a child certificate and a public criminal record.
