The Government of Greenland is seeking an ambitious and strategic office manager for the Chairman's Department. About the Chairman's Department
The Chairman's Department has a central coordinating and leading role in ensuring the Chairman of the Government of Greenland the best possible basis for cooperation in the Government and in the central administration. The department consists of the Management Secretariat, the Legal Department, HR Development, the Constitutional Department, and the office for government management, where the vacant office manager position is located.
About the position
As the head of the government administration, you will be responsible for developing and strengthening the overall and strategic work with political processes and issues in the Naalakkersuisut and central administration. The office has a particular focus on coordination, progress, and implementation of high-priority political initiatives, reforms, and cross-cutting projects.
You will work closely with the departments and support the entire central administration in ensuring coherence, quality, and timely political service.

Your primary work tasks To manage and lead a well-functioning office with motivated and professionally strong employees.

To strengthen prioritization and coordination across the Naalakkersuisut and the central administration.

To consult with the departments on process understanding, reform work, and political agreements.

To ensure the implementation and maintenance of the governance document for the self-governing companies.

To support the ownership role between the Government of Greenland and the self-governing companies.

To prepare briefings, presentations, reports, etc. for the Chairman of the Naalakkersuisut and the Naalakkersuisut.

To ensure planning and execution of general meetings in the self-governing companies.

To coordinate meetings, seminars, and dialogue between the companies and the Naalakkersuisut.
You will become part of the management team in the Chairman's Department and are expected to actively contribute to the development of both the department and the central administration. You report to the director of the Chairman's Department.
About you
We are looking for a strategically strong leader with solid political understanding and experience from a politically governed organization.

We imagine that you: Have a relevant academic education, e.g. cand.scient.pol., cand.scient.adm. or another social science background.

Has experience with similar areas of responsibility, preferably from the Government of Greenland or another politically governed organization.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If you already have staff housing through employment with the Self-Government, you retain the right to this. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of employment.

Employment conditions
The position is currently salary-fixed corresponding to 36. The salary with fixed salary components and personal contributions to pension in LR 36 amounts to DKK 57,531 monthly and DKK 690,372 annually as of April 1, 2026.
Employment will primarily be based on collective agreement terms; however, if the applicant is already a civil servant under the civil servant laws for the public Greenland, employment may occur under civil servant terms.
For the position, it applies that there is no maximum length of service established and that the provisions regarding compensation for overtime and the provisions regarding compensation for lost days off do not apply; the working hours are initially 40 hours per week.
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses upon hiring and termination, in accordance with the collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
No housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned housing is retained. The housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
