The Municipality of Sermersooq is seeking a maternity cover and dedicated coordinator for the Children's House in MI Tasiilaq. The position involves coordinating clients, travel, and treatment plans as well as collaboration with the police. We are looking for an experienced consultant with relevant education and experience in the social field.
The childcare consultant is on maternity leave from January 1, 2026.
The Municipality of Sermersooq is therefore seeking a skilled maternity cover and engaged coordinator for the Children's House – who will be responsible for coordination and consultancy work – under the Action Area in MI Tasiilaq, with immediate start or by further agreement.
The children's house in Tasiilaq is being established in connection with Danish-Greenlandic cooperation under the Social Authority in BFC Tasiilaq.
The children's house will be managed by Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq MI Tasiilaq as of January 1, 2026.
The department consists of 1 treatment leader, 1 psychologist, and 4 family advisors (who are also associated with the intervention area). The position is a full-time position and reports to the department head in the intervention area.
The content of the position:
We are looking for a consultant – preferably experienced – to take on:
Coordination of referred clients for treatment in the children's house,
Coordination of travel from villages and stays in Tasiilaq for clients as well as traveling therapists.
·development and revision of treatment plans together with the therapists
The consultant must also coordinate video interrogations with the police.
Participation in video interviews of children, with a summary task for use in further proceedings in the children's house.
The consultant must also help to clarify and develop workflows.
The tasks are carried out in close collaboration with the other staff of the children's house, the police, the healthcare system, and the caseworkers at BFA.
Expectations for applicants:
Relevant education – preferably in the social field or office.
Experience with case coordination
Experience working in a politically governed organization
Experience working in the child sector would be preferred.
Experience working interdisciplinary

Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Criminal and Child Certificate:
The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal record from the Police.
The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
