Do you want to help make a difference in the lives of some young people – and be part of shaping a residential institution in change? Then you might be the one we are looking for as a department leader at Pilutaq, a social pedagogical residential institution for psychologically vulnerable girls aged 11-17.

About Pilutaq
Pilutaq is located in Sisimiut, Greenland's second-largest city, and is under the Department of Social Affairs, Family, and Prevention. We receive neglected children and young people from all over Greenland, and our pedagogy is based on safety, structure, and relationship work.

Your tasks as department manager
You will be an important part of the management team and will, among other things:
Manage the daily operations in collaboration with the principal.
Create duty schedules and follow up on finances and structure.
Plan staff meetings, children's meetings, and supervision.
Ensure professional quality and direction in daily work
Be a link between employees, residents, parents, and external partners.
Prepare status reports and development plans for the youth.
Introduce and support new employees
Taking on standby duties as part of the management responsibility
Participate in and plan cabin trips and other activities with the residents.
We imagine that you:
Is educated as a pedagogue (or similar) – preferably with leadership training or experience.
Has experience with placed children and young people
Is professionally strong, clear, and willing to take the lead.
Speaks and writes Greenlandic
Have the courage to learn and develop with us.
Has a driver's license (not a requirement, but an advantage)

40-hour workweek, primarily day shifts
Important
The position is covered by legislation on child and criminal records. Employment can only take place once approval is granted.
Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation travel and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
An unfurnished staff housing can be allocated for the position according to the applicable rules at any given time. Housing cannot be allocated to individuals who already have staff housing or another property owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the allocated housing. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the property, ownership conditions, etc. There may be a waiting period for the allocation of permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller housing communities or hotel apartments, for which taxation applies. It is not possible to keep larger pets such as dogs or cats in staff or temporary housing.
