The therapy team is seeking an occupational therapist for a permanent position in the rehabilitation field in Nuuk, Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq. We are looking for an occupational therapist, preferably starting February 1, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter. If you are interested in visiting Greenlandic homes and experiencing the Greenlandic culture and language through an interpreter, and working with rehabilitation to help our citizens achieve greater independence in their daily lives, then you might be the person we are looking for. We are a team of therapists who have come to Greenland to experience the beautiful nature, culture, and to fulfill a long-standing dream of coming here. We focus on welcoming people warmly and contribute to helping citizens of all ages with permanent physical, cognitive, sensory, and/or mental disabilities achieve greater independence in their daily lives. We do this through: • Maintenance training either individually or in groups • Assessment, approval, and provision of large and small aids to increase citizens' independence, accessibility, and participation in their own lives • Training in daily skills through meaningful activities. The therapy team is divided into four areas and a special area: • Children, Adults, Rehabilitation, and Disability & Social Psychiatry, and we have a specialist therapist who runs welfare technology projects, so we cover a wide range. You will always encounter a new exciting task and become a generalist by being here. • You will be based in Nuuk, building close cooperation with home care and visitation as well as with the city's respite department Pillorissaavik. • The position is a full-time position of 40 hours with a shared office. The occupational therapist's tasks include: • Interdisciplinary rehabilitation of citizens who have been hospitalized, have lost function after illness, or need home help or additional home help • Daily rehabilitation in collaboration with the physiotherapist in the area and home care • Maintenance training in the citizen's own home or at the respite care • Case processing of applications for aids and housing changes • Purchase of aids, distribution, and training/instruction in the use of aids • Being a good communicator also to other professional groups, where home care and care staff at the municipality's nursing homes and activity centers are major partners • Administrative tasks • Interdisciplinary collaboration • Helping to lift common tasks in the therapy team. We need a person who: • Is a trained occupational therapist • Preferably with experience in the rehabilitation field • Can work independently and be self-organizing • Has knowledge about aids • Is creative, committed, action-oriented, and professionally well-founded • Can operate in different cultures • Is flexible and adaptable • Is a team player who is open and inclusive • Is a good communicator – good at training other professional groups. Criminal record: This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal record check. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. Therefore, we must point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the police. Salary and employment conditions: Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the current agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization at the time of employment.
