The Disability and Social Psychiatry Department is seeking two healthcare assistants for Residential Unit Manngua 6 in Nuuk. This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, including day, evening, and weekend shifts. You will work closely with colleagues to support residents in their development and well-being.
The Disability and Social Psychiatry Department is looking for two healthcare assistants for Manngua 6. If you have a caring heart and want to make a difference for our residents, you might be the new colleague we need. This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, with day, evening, and weekend shifts. You will work closely with your colleagues to support our residents in their development. Residential Unit Manngua 6 is one of the Disability and Social Psychiatry's units in Nuuk, housing residents aged 18-67 with mental and physical disabilities. Your main task will be to help residents develop their mental, physical, and social skills to live as independently as possible. Together with your colleagues, you will support residents in living as fulfilling a life as they wish. In addition to our 8 residents, the unit consists of 16 staff members. Your responsibilities include: • Working to develop residents towards greater independence and improved quality of life, including working with residents on action plans • Motivating and supporting residents in daily activities such as walking, shopping, cooking, and medical visits • Strengthening the community within the unit through collaboration with colleagues, leaders, and residents Tasks are completed in close collaboration with the unit's other staff and partners, including Ikaarsaarfik, SANA, the Police, the Correctional Service, and caseworkers. We expect you to: • Be a trained healthcare assistant. • Be caring and welcoming, seeing it as the path to a good working environment • Be eager to develop yourself and our department, making a meaningful difference for the residents • Work independently and collaborate with other professional groups • Be stable and adaptable in a busy environment • Experience in psychiatry is an advantage but not a requirement About us: In this position, you will be part of a larger community: We are a department with eight residential units, five communal living groups, two activity and social offerings, and three support teams distributed in Nuuk, Tasiilaq, and Paamiut. We offer an exciting job in a department undergoing significant development. This development includes thorough introduction for you as a new employee, ongoing sparring, and professional communities. We expect to hold interviews in week 4. Criminal Record: This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal record check. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. Therefore, we must point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police. Salary and Employment Terms: Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the current agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization. Employment will be subject to a 3-month probationary period. Housing: No staff housing is available for this position.
