Teacher for Grade 1

Nuussuup Atuarfia in Nuuk is seeking a Grade 1 teacher for employment starting March 1, 2026, or by agreement.

About Nuussuup Atuarfia:

Nuussuup Atuarfia is a grade-divided school with 380 students from 1st to 10th grade and a dynamic, engaged, and stable teaching staff of 45 educators. The school has 17 regular classes and 5 special classes, where students perform very well academically.

Teacher's Hours:

The teacher will be the class teacher for 1B and will also teach 3B in the subjects:

Greenlandic, Danish, Mathematics, English, Science, Local Choice, Physical Education, Social Studies, History, Religion Philosophy, and Personal Development.

Criminal and Child Record:

The position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child records. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child records. Therefore, we must point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child record from the national police and the criminal record from the police.

The child record is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.

Salary and Employment Terms:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the current agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization at the time of employment.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probationary period.

Housing:

A staff apartment may be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, consumption, etc., are payable according to the current rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland's and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If a permanent staff apartment cannot be provided immediately upon commencement, a temporary vacant apartment will be offered to employees entitled to a vacant apartment, for which rent, consumption, etc., are payable according to the above. The start date depends on when a staff apartment is available. Relocation travel and moving expenses are provided according to current rules.
