Department Leader for Sikkersoq

Integrated institution Sikkersoq is seeking an educator as department leader. The position is a full-time role of 40 hours per week. Sikkersoq is located in Nuussuaq and accommodates 64 children. The department leader works closely with the manager and deputy manager and is jointly responsible for the institution's educational development, parent collaboration, and staff management.

Integrated institution Sikkersoq is seeking an educator to take on the role of department leader as soon as possible or by agreement. The position is a full-time position and is 40 hours per week.

A little about Sikkersoq:

Integrated Institution Sikkersoq is located in Nuussuaq and has space for 64 children, with room for 24 toddlers and 40 preschoolers.

Staffing is at 15 personnel, distributed with 3 in each room for 4 rooms, one kitchen assistant, and a manager.

Sikkersoq is open during the day between 07:00 AM and 05:00 PM.

The department leader is an educator in the room and works closely with the manager and the deputy manager. The department leader steps in as deputy manager in the absence of the deputy or when the deputy acts as manager in the manager's absence. It is 40 weekly working hours with varying working hours between 07:00 – 17:00.

The leader, the deputy manager, and the department head are jointly responsible for the educational development of the daycare center, parent collaboration, and staff management.

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the national police as well as the criminal record from the police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
