The school

You will become part of a school with approximately 1,000 students spread across grades 1-10 and with 9 special classes. We are a brand new school in development, and in the coming years, we will have a strong focus on 21st-century skills, project-based learning, teamwork, quality development, and strengthening students' academic levels.

The school's vision is to create students who can be creative, collaborative, think critically, have digital literacy, possess good communication skills, and can work interdisciplinary.

We are looking for

At present, we are looking for a teacher for grade 2 with a variety of competencies. Subjects: Greenlandic, Physics/Chemistry, English, Danish, German, Personal development, and Physical education.

One must be prepared for close teamwork with the other teachers in the team and in the department, as well as having close contact with parents.

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal record from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

A staff housing option will be available for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary rental unit, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid in accordance with the above. The start date is dependent on when a staff accommodation is available. A relocation travel allowance and moving expenses for household goods are provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
