The Education Agency is seeking a teaching inspector to handle political and administrative tasks within the Greenlandic education system. The position requires experience in public administration and good collaboration skills. Employment is on collective agreement terms starting on December 1, 2026, or by agreement.

The main tasks of the education inspector are to process the agency's political and administrative tasks within the areas of public schools, private schools, continuation schools, and folk high schools, as well as special education and special schools. The education inspector must be advisory in relation to management, the area's executing institutions, municipalities, and in relation to the Department of Education. The education inspector reports to the deputy head of the Education Agency.

The Education Agency is looking for a visible, dynamic, and development-oriented education inspector who can initiate and further develop development initiatives in the aforementioned areas in close collaboration with management and other employees in the Education Agency. The education inspector must be able to operate in the tension between administration, pedagogy, and politics and must be able to act with an overview in relation to decision-makers and both internal and external collaboration relationships.

You have:

  • In-depth knowledge of the Greenlandic education system, including the policies and legislation in the aforementioned areas
  • Preferably an academic education
  • Experience from a public administration
  • Good collaboration skills and impact
  • Good linguistic and communicative skills
  • Can work independently and under time pressure


Areas of responsibility
The education inspector has, with reference to the deputy head, among other things, responsibility for the implementation and supervision of the intentions of the legislation. The education inspector must be able to participate in interdisciplinary projects and development tasks internally in the agency but also with other partners.

About the Education Agency
The Education Agency is a politically governed organization and works both with servicing the Department of Education and the political level, as well as with development and production. We are a diverse workplace with many different functions, which, in addition to more traditional agency functions, also has its own publishing house, printing house, and information and lending collections. The agency primarily deals with public schools, continuation schools, and private schools, GUX, Attat, and NUIKI. We are about 50 colleagues who, in an informal environment, take pride in maintaining a high professional level.

Salary and employment conditions

Employment will be on collective agreement terms according to “The Agreement between Naalakkersuisut and Ilinniartitsisut Meeqqat Atuarfianneersut Kattuffiat, IMAK, for teachers in public schools”. If the applicant is already a civil servant under the civil service laws for the public Greenland, employment may occur under civil servant terms.


Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and departure travel and moving expenses, according to the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
