The Intervention Area in the Administration for Children and Families is seeking an internal supervisor who will be responsible for case supervision for employees in the area's five units.

The Intervention Area consists of:

∙Sikkerneq: Center for Counseling and Family Treatment,

∙Kuserneq,

∙Dudo – Crisis Center for Women and Children,

∙Tupaarnaq Children's Home and

∙The Youth Center.

Employees in the Intervention Area work with children, young people, and families with various and sometimes complex needs. As a supervisor, you must create a professional space where employees can reflect on specific cases, their own roles, and possible courses of action.

Your tasks:

As an internal supervisor, you will among other things:

∙Conduct individual supervision and group supervision

∙Supervise employees based on specific cases

∙Facilitate professional reflection and support employees in viewing a case from different perspectives

∙Rationalize reflection on one's own professional role and the relationship with the child, young person, or family

∙Help employees identify professional options in complex cases

∙Work with the professional and relational dynamics that may arise in working with children, young people, and families

∙Contribute to professional learning and development in the Intervention Area's five units

∙Ensure clear and safe frameworks for supervision, including confidentiality and duty of silence

Internal case supervision is a professional reflection space and not therapy or treatment of the employee. As a supervisor, you also do not take responsibility for the specific case or for management decisions.

Who are we looking for:

We are looking for you who have a relevant therapeutic education, e.g., as a psychotherapist or another equivalent therapeutic education with a solid theoretical and methodological foundation.

We emphasize that you:

∙Have a relevant therapeutic education

∙Have experience with supervision, preferably both individually and in groups

∙Have experience with or a good knowledge of working with children, young people, and families

∙Have an understanding of complex social and family issues

∙Have strong relational and communicative skills

∙Can create a safe space where there is room for professional doubt, reflection, and learning

∙Are good at listening and asking exploratory and reflective questions

∙Can maintain a neutral and professional position, even in difficult cases

∙Can work independently while collaborating with various professional groups and leaders.

It will be an advantage if you have experience from the social sector and knowledge of working with vulnerable children, young people, and families.

About the position:

The position is organizationally anchored in the Intervention Area and covers the area's five units. Therefore, you will work with different professional groups and various types of interventions, i.e., from early prevention and family treatment to the youth area, crisis center, and residential area.

An important part of the role is to maintain a clear framework for supervision and distinguish between case supervision, therapy, management sparring, and personnel matters. If an issue lies outside the framework of supervision, you must be able to identify this and point to the relevant way forward.

You will also have the opportunity to help further develop and anchor a common practice for internal case supervision in the Intervention Area based on the already prepared handbook.

You will be part of an Intervention Area with various professional fields and offers and have the opportunity to contribute to a common focus on professional reflection, learning, and quality in the work.

You will not be alone with the task. You will work closely with the other internal supervisor in the Intervention Area, and together you will handle the supervision task for approximately 80 employees distributed across five units.

Emphasis is placed on close collaboration between the two supervisors with ongoing professional sparring about supervision practice, methods, and the issues that cross the area. You will also help ensure a common and uniform approach to supervision based on the Intervention Area's handbook for internal case supervision.

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Greenland Self-Government, according to the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Greenland Self-Government and the relevant negotiating organization.

Employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

No staff housing can be assigned for the position.
