SPO Aarmarngaar in Tasiilaq is looking for a souschef with a social worker education

SPO Aarmarngaar covers an after-school program for children in 1st – 3rd grade.

Are you passionate about working with children and creating a good childhood? Do you have an overview and can you catch your own, but also others' "balls in the air" and still smile – then you might be just the person we are looking for as a souschef for our After-School Program in Tasiilaq.

The after-school program is an educationally developing offer for children in primary school (1st – 3rd grade). The purpose of the offer is to develop the children's general, social, cognitive, and motor skills through planned educational activities, based on the educational annual plan. The work of the after-school program is facilitated in close collaboration with the school, both to follow up on the educational development areas and to ensure a coherent everyday life for the children.

The after-school program is open every weekday from 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, also during school holidays.

We emphasize that you have knowledge of and understanding of the social conditions that apply in Tasiilaq, and that you are able to tailor your pedagogical practice accordingly. In daily pedagogical work, you will experience or acquire knowledge about things or events that may be boundary-crossing. Therefore, we expect you to be mentally robust, show resilience, and step forward clearly, even in difficult situations. We also expect that you are familiar and comfortable with your heightened duty to report.

Activities with more pedagogical content are planned to involve the users, so they are coordinated interactions or personal development arrangements.

∙Has experience with leadership, preferably from the daycare sector

∙Is passionate about pedagogical leadership

∙Is clear and visible, and at the same time passionate about team collaboration and professional development

∙Introduces new pedagogical working methods and communicates them to staff and parents

∙Leads by example and inspires the introduction of new pedagogical working methods to their staff professionally

∙Is listening and appreciative

∙Has good collaboration skills and can maintain an overview

∙Ensures a safe and secure environment for children, parents, and staff

∙Can participate in the administrative and financial management work

∙Acts as a deputy in the absence of the leader

Criminal and Child Certificate:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

There will be the possibility of assigning staff housing for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland and the municipality's properties, etc. in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, temporary staff housing will be offered to employees entitled to vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the above. The start date is dependent on when a staff housing becomes available. A relocation travel allowance and moving expenses will be provided according to applicable rules.
