The Social Authority in Nuuk is seeking an office manager with leadership responsibility and strong administrative skills. The position requires strategic coordination and the ability to motivate employees. You will act as a link between the administration and the management team, ensuring high quality in the secretariat's tasks.
We are looking for a leader with personal and professional impact, who is passionate about strategic coordination, upskilling, service, and operations. As the office manager, it is crucial that you are a sociable person and a good sparring partner, who can quickly create an overview of the agency's secretariat tasks and adapt to the department's service-oriented culture and flat structure.
About the position
In the Social Agency, you will have management responsibility for the secretariat's employees, you will have a close professional collaboration and sparring partner for the agency head and the management team. And often act as a link between the administrative part and the management team in the agency. You must have solid administrative skills. You must be able to work independently, proactively, and service-oriented in relation to taking on large and small tasks that support the agency's departments. The secretariat's mission is indeed to integrate efforts across the board, provide service, and operate the agency, so that the other departments can have peace and support for their social professional tasks.
Your tasks will include:
- Clearing challenges for the management team and employees, and developing solutions that benefit the organization in close collaboration with the department's teams
- Motivation and follow-up with employees through daily personnel management and employment law tasks
- Independent planning and execution of the secretariat's tasks, including ensuring ongoing focus and prioritization
- Development, implementation, and maintenance of administrative procedures and workflows, so they are appropriate and effective
- Strong professional sparring with employees, ensuring that the secretariat delivers on time and with high quality
- Drive and plan communication, upskilling, and strategic initiatives for the entire agency

About the Social Agency
The Social Agency is under the Ministry of Children, Youth, and Families and the following 5 departments: Paarisa, Day and Referral Department, Department for Advice to Caseworkers, Economic Department, and Secretariat. The departments work closely together, and it is a workplace that offers plenty of professional challenges.
Criminal and Child Certificate:
The position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the Social Agency has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when the Social Agency has received a child certificate from the National Police as well as a criminal certificate from the Police.
The child certificate is obtained by the Social Agency with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Employment conditions
The position is currently salary-fixed corresponding to 36. The salary with fixed salary components and own contribution to pension in LR 36 amounts to DKK 57,531 monthly and DKK 690,372 annually as of April 1, 2026.
In principle, employment will take place under collective agreement terms, where an applicant who may already be a civil servant under the civil servant laws for the public Greenland can be employed under civil servant terms.
For the position, there is no maximum service time set, and the provisions regarding compensation for overtime, and the provisions regarding compensation for lost days off do not apply, the working time is in principle 40 hours weekly.
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, according to the collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Greenland Self-Government and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
