Kangaatsiaq nursing station is located in the Disko Region, where Aasiaat is the main town. Throughout the Disko Region, we continuously work to strengthen continuity in patient pathways, which among other things requires stability in employment.

At the same time, there is a focus on maintaining a good working environment for all our staff groups. Therefore, we are now looking for a nurse for permanent employment or for a temporary position, preferably of a minimum duration of 3 months.

Disko Region

Disko Region includes the Regional Hospital in Aasiaat, 2 towns with health centers, Kangaatsiaq nursing station, and 8 settlements. In Kangaatsiaq, there are about 500 inhabitants. In Aasiaat, there are about 3000 inhabitants, and in the entire region, there are about 6000 inhabitants.

We are looking for you who are ready for new challenges.

The work is diverse, and you will quickly feel how your role as a nurse makes a difference for the town's citizens.

You will be part of a smaller nursing station, and you can expect a daily routine with a lot of responsibility.

Your tasks cover a wide area, but where regular nursing consultations constitute the main task. You will make weekly visits to the town's nursing home, which has 12 residents. You will, in collaboration with an assistant and a health helper, handle outpatient inquiries from the town's citizens during the hours of 08:00 – 16:00. Additionally, you may be called in for emergencies outside of working hours. You will plan the day's/week's tasks in collaboration with the other staff.

Since Kangaatsiaq nursing station is not staffed by a doctor, you will, in collaboration with the other staff, make independent decisions. The Regional Hospital in Aasiaat provides medical support to Kangaatsiaq with weekly team consultations and several doctor visits annually. You can always contact the on-call doctor in Aasiaat by phone.

Housing

Housing will be provided according to the rules applicable in the Greenlandic Health Service at any given time.

Salary and employment

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of employment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

There may be allowances for relevant further and higher education, e.g., diploma, academy, or master's degree, based on specific assessment.

Citizenship

If you are not a Nordic citizen, please note that employment is conditional on a valid residence and work permit. A residence and work permit can only be applied for upon agreed employment.
