The Municipality of Sermersooq is seeking a dedicated caseworker for the Supervisory Authority, who will be responsible for supervision and case processing of land allocations. Case Handler for the Supervisory Authority in the Administration for Construction and Environment
The Municipality of Sermersooq is looking for a skilled and dedicated Case Handler for the Supervisory Authority, Administration for Construction and Environment.
Nuuk is rapidly developing, and the need for supervision is also evolving. The Administration for Construction and Environment, the Supervisory Authority, is responsible for servicing land allocations for vehicles without license plates, boats, and container storage, including supervision and control of these issued land allocations.
The Supervisory Department is part of the Traffic and Supervisory Department in the administration, where the direct Supervisory staff currently consists of 3 employees. The position, which is a full-time position, reports to the department head in the department.
Job Content:
We are looking for a – preferably experienced – case handler to take on a range of tasks including:
∙Case processing of applications for land allocations primarily for boats, vehicles without license plates, and containers
∙Preparation of party hearings and decisions
·Supervision of issued land allocations
·Proactive work on the storage of vehicles, boats, and containers in the city – including announcements in accordance with applicable legislation and guidelines
∙The work alternates between supervision in the city and administrative case processing of incoming applications and cases initiated by the administration on its own initiative, and the workflow is coordinated among employees
∙Assist other departments in the administration
∙Ad hoc tasks
The tasks are solved in close collaboration with the other employees in the department as well as the other departments in the administration, where the supervisory tasks are expected to grow over the coming time.
Expectations for Applicants:
∙That you have relevant higher education in the field, such as office or technical education
∙That you have good communication skills in writing and speaking, preferably both Greenlandic and Danish.
∙Can engage in a constructive and direct dialogue with citizens.
∙Preferably have experience working in a public administration in a politically governed organization, including knowledge of the legislation within public administration. However, this is not a requirement, as training will take place.

Criminal Record:
This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
Salary and Employment Conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
Housing:
There will be the possibility of assigning staff housing for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland and the municipality's properties, etc. in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, temporary staff housing will be offered to employees entitled to vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the above. The start date is dependent on when a staff housing becomes available. A relocation travel allowance and moving expenses will be provided in accordance with applicable rules.
