Are you interested in working with exciting tasks, collaborating with local actors, and contributing to the development of tourism and business? Then you might be the one we are looking for.


The Municipality of Sermersooq is looking for a proactive and results-oriented Tourism and Business Consultant, either as a generalist or with experience in tourism, business development, and/or project management. The position is to be filled as soon as possible or by mutual agreement.


As a Tourism and Business Consultant, you will play a central role in strengthening and further developing the Municipality of Sermersooq's efforts in tourism and business. Your primary work area will be the Nuuk Region, where you will be close to local actors and the development of Nuuk as an attractive, sustainable, and competitive destination.


At the same time, you will be part of a professional community where we work across the municipality. You will therefore also collaborate with colleagues and actors in the Paamiut Region and the East Region on the development of tourism and business across the regions.


A department in development:

You will be part of Tourism & Business, where development and new initiatives are continuously taking place. We work closely with both local businesses, organizations, tourism actors, other administrations, and other partners.


You will therefore have the opportunity to influence development, translate ideas and political decisions into concrete initiatives, and create results that can be felt locally.

The position is organizationally anchored in the Tourism & Business department, which falls under Business, Facility & Procurement in the Internal Service administration, and reports to the department head for Tourism & Business.


Content of the position:

We are looking for a Tourism and Business Consultant who can handle a range of tasks, including:

·Contributing to the strategic development of tourism and business in the Nuuk Region in close collaboration with local actors and other partners

·Translating and implementing political decisions and wishes into concrete actions and results in close collaboration with relevant actors and the municipality's other administrations

·Handling the secretariat function for the Nuuk Tourism Network, including coordinating meetings, workshops, and follow-ups, as well as supporting the network's collaboration, activities, and joint initiatives

·Contributing to the profiling of Nuuk as a tourist destination in collaboration with relevant colleagues and partners, including developing and coordinating relevant content, campaigns, and marketing initiatives

·Contributing to the development and coordination of initiatives within business development in the Nuuk Region

·Engaging in cross-cutting collaboration with colleagues and partners in the Paamiut Region and the East Region on tourism and business

·Contributing to the development of new projects, collaborations, and activities across the professional field

·Handling other ad hoc tasks within tourism and business

The tasks are solved in close collaboration with external actors, the municipality's other administrations, colleagues in the other regions, and the department head for Tourism & Business


Your profile:

We are looking for a Tourism and Business Consultant who has the right attitude, is curious about development, and thrives on creating results in collaboration with others.


We emphasize that you:

·Have an understanding of working in a politically governed organization and can translate political decisions and wishes into concrete actions

·Have good communication skills and can communicate clearly with different target groups

·See sparring and collaboration as a natural part of problem-solving

·Are strong with numbers and can work structured with data and finance

·Are structured, analytical, and good at creating an overview

·Can work independently, results-oriented, and within set deadlines

·Have strong collaboration skills and the ability to create good relationships and partnerships across actors

·Have a proactive and results-oriented approach and can translate ideas and strategies into action

·Have a desire to work with both tourism and business development and engage in a professional community across the municipality's regions

·Greenlandic and Danish at a high level is an advantage, but not a requirement


Professional background:

You have a relevant higher education in, for example, economics, social sciences, tourism, business development, or similar – preferably supplemented with experience in project management, tourism, or business development.


However, the most important thing is that you want to help develop tourism and business in the Municipality and can translate ideas into concrete results.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.


Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Greenland Self-Government, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Greenland Self-Government and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period


Housing:

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
