Paarisa under the Social Authority is seeking a communications officer to develop internal and external communication. The position requires experience in content production and project management. You will work on health promotion initiatives for children, young people, and families in Greenland.

In the prevention department Paarisa under the Social Authority, we work with health-promoting initiatives and prevention in the social and health professional field. Our work is based on the public health program Inuuneritta III and the suicide prevention strategy Qamani. The health-promoting initiatives and prevention work are developed through dialogue with the local community based on what is desirable, meaningful, and possible to initiate at the local level.
As our new communications officer in Paarisa, you will be the face outward towards both professionals and citizens. You will be part of a department consisting of a department head and 17 other employees.
You will be responsible for managing and developing our internal and external communication.
Your primary tasks
You have overall responsibility for our website (www.paarisa.gl), our social media, and shared email.
You identify, angle, and write sharp news, press releases, and posts.
You translate complex professional language into easily understandable and engaging communication tailored to both professionals and citizens.
You ensure the quality of our communication and write minutes from joint and larger meetings.
You contribute to the planning and execution of both internal and external activities such as workshops, seminars, and citizen-related activities through, for example, the various funds that Paarisa administers.
You perform ad hoc tasks.
We envision that you:
Have an education in communication, journalism, or similar.
Are a strong communicator who loves to tell a good story and create dialogue.
Have experience with content production for web, press, and social media.
Thrive with project management and can maintain an overview of larger communication initiatives.
Are dynamic, development-oriented, and collaborate effortlessly across.
Have knowledge of IT and systems such as Umbraco and X-flow. Have a solid understanding of Greenlandic culture and societal conditions.
Are bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish in both writing and speaking.

About the Social Authority
The Social Authority is under the department for children, young people, and families and the following 5 departments: Paarisa, Day and Referral Department, Department for Advice to Caseworkers, Economic Department, and Secretariat. The departments work closely together, and it is a workplace that offers many professional challenges.
Start date
November 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
The application deadline is September 22, 2026.
Employment interviews are expected to be held immediately thereafter.
Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, according to the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The working hours are generally 40 hours per week.
Housing
No staff housing can be provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
