Then a job at Queen Ingrid's Health Center (DIS) in Nuuk might be for you.
We are looking for specialists in general medicine for short-term employment of at least 6-8 weeks duration and preferably longer.
If you are not available right now but are interested at a later time, we would also love to hear from you.
A health center with breadth, professionalism, and collaboration
Queen Ingrid's Health Center is physically located together with Queen Ingrid's Hospital (DIH) in Nuuk and provides primary health care for Nuuk and the surrounding settlements.
We are a modern health center with:
- 8 specialists in general medicine
- 15 junior doctors
- We have KBU, introductory, and main training doctors
- A close collaboration with the hospital's other specialties
In daily life, the work resembles general practice in Denmark, but with an exciting breadth that is rarely experienced elsewhere. The health center also operates an emergency reception/accident department and on-call function, which means that you encounter a varied patient base and have the opportunity to use your entire professional toolbox.
A role with responsibility and supervision
As a specialist, your primary tasks will be general medical consultations and treatment of patients in the health center.
You will also be part of the on-call team, where your most important function is to be a supervising on-call doctor for the junior doctors who act as primary doctors. The on-call shifts provide good opportunities for professional sparring, guidance, and competence development of the next generation of doctors, while you always work in a strong collegial community.
That's why you should choose Nuuk

At the same time, you will have the opportunity to experience Greenland's capital with approximately 20,000 inhabitants. Here you will find modern city life with cafes, restaurants, cultural offerings, and good recreational facilities, surrounded by some impressive nature.
In Nuuk, everyday life is simple. Distances are short, and there is more time for both work, experiences, and family life.
We offer
- A unique opportunity to gain insight into and experience with the Greenlandic healthcare system.
- A broad and varied general medical work.
- Close collaboration with specialists from all hospital specialties
- A strong professional environment with a high degree of sparring and collegial support.
- Opportunities for supervision and education of junior doctors
- Personal and professional development in a daily life where no days are the same
We are looking for you who
- Are a specialist in general medicine with Danish authorization.
- Are professionally curious and motivated by new challenges.
- Thrive with responsibility and independence
- Want to supervise and collaborate with junior doctors
- Contribute positively to an interdisciplinary work environment
