The Municipality of Sermersooq is looking for a vice principal for Atuarfik Tuiisaq to start as soon as possible or by agreement.
Atuarfik Tuiisaq is a three-tier school with approximately 170 students and is staffed for 20 teachers, located in the southwestern part of Greenland.
The school includes children from 1st to 10th grade, divided into 3 levels: lower level from 1st to 3rd grade, middle level from 4th to 7th grade, and upper level from 8th to 10th grade, along with 1 special class.

Since last year, the school has been working on starting the teaching method PBL and further developing it in the coming years.
You will be part of a management team consisting of 1 principal, 1 vice principal, and 3 department heads, special education teacher advisor, and school advisor.
Qualifications:
∙ You have a teaching degree
∙ You are prepared to take on independent management responsibility
∙ You will contribute to developing a department-divided school both pedagogically and organizationally
∙ You are open and loyal and good at building relationships
∙ You have experience with the use of computer programs
∙ You have an overview, can make decisions, plan, organize, and delegate tasks
∙ You can work purposefully
∙ You are bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement

Criminal and child certificate:
This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police, as well as the criminal certificate from the Police. The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable Agreement between the Naalakkersuisut and the Teachers' Union for Children’s Schools, IMAK, for teachers in public schools. Upon first employment as a teacher under this agreement, a probation period of 3 months is established.
Employees coming from a civil servant employment or respective agreement employment retain the right to this form of employment.
Upon hiring, free relocation travel is provided for the employee and their family, and earliest after 3 years, a corresponding departure travel is also provided, as well as relocation compensation according to applicable rules.
After 2 years of employment, you are entitled to vacation travel for you and your family in accordance with the provisions e) in Chapter II, Vacation Travel, in the Agreement of August 26, 2014, between the Naalakkersuisut and IMAK regarding free travel.
Housing:
There will be available staff housing for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the rules applicable at any time for rent payment in the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality's properties, etc. in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, temporary staff housing will be offered to employees entitled to vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the above. The start date depends on when there is staff housing available. Relocation travel and moving expenses are provided according to applicable rules.
