Head of the Security Benefits Area and the Elderly and Pension Area

The Municipality of Kujalleq is looking for an engaged, qualified social worker with experience in the social security benefits area, starting on October 1, 2026 or by further agreement.

The position is currently located in Qaqortoq, and organizationally reports to the Head of the Social Administration. The security benefits area in the Municipality of Kujalleq includes the administration of the early retirement pension area, public assistance, maternity benefits, housing benefits, child allowances, and child support, as well as local citizen service departments in the towns.

• Can you create a uniform, efficient, and customer-friendly case processing area in all municipal districts?
• Do you have the authority to do this in direct collaboration and dialogue with other areas and cross-sectorally?
• Are you able to streamline and automate routine workflows, so there is more time for caseworkers to talk to citizens, ask them how they are doing, and advise them individually on how they can improve their finances and develop professionally and personally?

About the job

As head, you will be responsible for an important area that develops in line with societal development both centrally and locally. This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has obtained a criminal record. The criminal record will be included in the municipality's assessment of who should be employed in the position.

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the applicable ASG agreement for administrative managers and the classification agreement on salary determination for heads under the Greenland Self-Government and in the municipalities in Greenland at the time of commencement.
