Kommune Kujalleq is looking for a technician for Technical Administration located in Qaqortoq.

The position is for you who want a central role in the daily technical operations of the city and who thrives on coordinating tasks between management, the municipality's teams, citizens, institutions, and local contractors.

As a technician, you will be the local technical coordinator in Qaqortoq responsible for creating an overview, ensuring progress, and following up on the municipality's operational and maintenance tasks. You will also be the immediate supervisor for the team leader in the city.

Your primary tasks

Your tasks will include:

  • Daily planning, coordination, and follow-up on technical operational tasks in Qaqortoq.
  • Coordination of city operations, maintenance, minor construction tasks, and local technical projects.
  • Management follow-up and prioritization of tasks together with the city's team leader.
  • Conducting local inspections and following up on quality, timelines, and execution.
  • Coordination with local craftsmen, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Receiving and processing citizen inquiries in the technical area.
  • Forwarding cases to the relevant employee or professional function.
  • Follow-up on municipal buildings, institutions, roads, technical facilities, and other operational areas.
  • Project management of minor technical tasks and renovation work.
  • Participation in budgeting, budget control, resource follow-up, and accounting within your area of responsibility.
  • Control and follow-up on invoice basis and completed work.
  • Local coordination during holidays, absences, acute incidents, and operational challenges.
  • Ongoing updates on the status of cases, risks, finances, and capacity challenges.

Collaboration across

You will have a broad contact area and will need to collaborate with:

  • The team leader and the municipality's executing employees.
  • Deputy manager and other employees in Technical Administration.
  • Building and construction engineers in connection with maintenance plans, condition assessments, technical inspections, service agreements, and renovation projects.
  • Planning staff in connection with land issues, hearings, and planning cases.
  • Administrative staff regarding registration, case flow, invoice basis, and citizen service.
  • Municipal institutions, local businesses, suppliers, and contractors.

We expect you to

  • Have a relevant technical, craft, or construction education.
  • Have experience with operations, maintenance, construction, facilities, or technical project coordination.
  • Have an understanding of the practical execution of technical tasks.
  • Be able to plan, prioritize, and follow multiple tasks to completion.
  • Have experience with or interest in personnel management and coordination of executing employees.
  • Be able to supervise craftsmen and contractors.
  • Have financial understanding and be able to work with budget follow-up, offers, invoices, and accounting.
  • Be able to communicate clearly and respectfully with citizens, colleagues, and partners.
  • Work in a structured, independent, and solution-oriented manner.
  • Be able to maintain an overview in a daily routine with both planned tasks and acute operational conditions.
  • Have general IT skills and be able to work with administrative systems, email, and documentation.
  • Have a driver's license for passenger cars.

Knowledge of municipal operations, public administration, and local conditions in Qaqortoq will be an advantage but is not a requirement.

It will also be an advantage if you master both Greenlandic and Danish.

Responsibilities and authorities

The technician is responsible for progress, quality, and local coordination of tasks within their area.

Any certification and directive authorities follow Kommune Kujalleq's applicable delegation sheet and the specific frameworks established by management.

Employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing may be provided according to the applicable rules, provided that suitable housing is available. There may be a waiting period for housing allocation.

Start date: September 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
