Do you want to help create great meal experiences for our patients?

At the Parenchymal Surgical Department K2, we are looking for a dedicated, independent, and service-minded kitchen or nutrition assistant who wants to make a difference for our patients through good food, high quality, and a well-functioning kitchen.

About K2

K2 is a surgical department with 18 beds. We primarily treat patients in parenchymal surgery and urology and receive patients from all over Greenland – both scheduled patients for examination and surgery as well as acute and subacute patients from Nuuk and evacuations from the coast.

The patient pathways range from short, planned admissions to longer and more complex courses. We also manage palliative patient pathways, where holistic care, compassion, and patient involvement are the focus.

The department also has a Stoma Clinic, staffed by a specially trained nurse.

Your tasks

You will play an important role in ensuring that patients have a good experience around meals. Your tasks include, among others:

  • Setting up and serving food to patients – also in patient rooms.
  • Presenting the food in an appetizing and inviting manner.
  • Cleaning up and washing dishes, including collecting patient trays from the rooms.
  • Recording patients' food and fluid intake on fluid charts.
  • Compliance with applicable hygiene and kitchen standards.
  • Ordering food items and supplies.
  • Maintaining the staff kitchen, including cleaning the staff refrigerator once a week.
  • Participating in kitchen meetings at Queen Ingrid's Hospital on behalf of K2.
  • Resolving other kitchen-related tasks as agreed with the head nurse.

We offer

  • Working hours Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 15:00.
  • Off every weekend.
  • An independent and versatile job with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • A good interdisciplinary collaboration with dedicated colleagues.
  • A workplace where you are an important part of the patients' overall treatment and well-being.

We are looking for you who

  • Is a trained nutrition assistant, kitchen assistant, or has another relevant education in the food sector.
  • Works independently and takes responsibility for your tasks.
  • Is flexible and thrives in a daily routine where tasks can vary.
  • Is structured and good at planning your work.
  • Has a focus on quality, service, and good hygiene.
  • Meets patients and colleagues with kindness, respect, and a smile.
