Atuarfik Ilasiaq is looking for an engaged social worker. We offer a good and pleasant workplace. It is a school with two departments, one is affiliated with Atuarfik Samuel Kleinschmidt and the other is located close to Nuussuup Atuarfia.

The office is located in Atuarfik Ilasiaq, near Nuussuup Atuarfia. You will work as a social worker in the school, which is divided into two departments.

The students at Atuarfik Ilasiaq have special needs and, for various reasons, cannot receive education in general classes. Atuarfik Ilasiaq is a well-organized school that ensures all students benefit from the education tailored to their individual needs, and here the focus is on meeting the students' learning and development needs.

The school has about 60 students and approximately 52 staff members. They are distributed across the school's two departments.

The employed social worker will need to divide their work between the two departments.

Job Description:

As the school's social worker, you will coordinate the social work for the students. Some of your tasks will include student and parent inquiries. Conducting student interviews and partially conducting parent interviews. Teachers may need advice and guidance regarding students.

• ·Experience related to the needs
• ·Speaks Greenlandic and Danish
• ·Ability to work independently
• ·Ability to work effectively, be goal-oriented, and take responsibility
• ·Good contact with children with special needs
• ·Creative
• ·Good at collaborating with the school and others
• ·Good at communicating with parents who have children with special needs
• ·Proficient in IT

Responsibilities of the Social Worker:

• ·Collaboration with the school and parents
• ·Being the contact person for the student regarding social tasks
• ·Able to advise and guide teachers regarding students
• ·Conduct ongoing conversations with students in collaboration with parents
• ·Assist in creating action plans regarding social tasks
• ·Exchange with colleagues
• ·Promote prevention, including bullying prevention
• ·Collaborate with external partners, MISI, Peqqik also regarding prevention
• ·Collaborate with advisory teachers
• ·Work closely with the leaders
• ·Lead and hold network meetings
• ·Collaborate on emergency preparedness

Criminal and Child Certificate:
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and Employment Conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/contract in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:
No staff housing can be provided for the position.
