Qasigiannguit - Juunarsip School is looking for a Social Worker

The social worker will work at Juunarsip school.

The social worker's immediate supervisor is the school principal.

The social worker's main task in the school will be to develop and improve the school and home collaboration between the school and the students' homes. And provide advice to teachers in cases of reporting, and to be a conversation partner for the students and parents, as well as being a social professional sparring partner for the teachers.

The social worker will, in collaboration with the school's other staff and staff from the social administration, develop action plans. This new working method will focus on the prevention of abuse and bullying, and will also be involved in the work around the school's crisis preparedness. In a crisis situation in a class, the social worker must collaborate with teachers and families to develop an action plan for the class. And be a conversation partner, as well as provide guidance for all parties.

Our expectations of you:

-That you are a trained social worker or have a similar education.

-That you are proactive and can work independently.

-Experience working as a social worker, preferably in a municipal administration (but this is not a requirement)

-Willing to work

-Respects time

You are welcome to be bilingual, Greenlandic and Danish.

We also emphasize that you as a person have good collaboration skills, that you are trustworthy and have an accommodating personality.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland and AK or another negotiating organization.

Criminal and child certificate:

This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received a child certificate from the national police, as well as a criminal certificate from the police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the police.

Housing:

There will be the possibility of assigning staff housing for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland and the municipality's properties, etc. in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary vacant housing, for which A-tax will be paid for free benefits in accordance with applicable legislation.

OR The start date is dependent on when there is staff housing available. A relocation travel and moving of belongings will be provided in accordance with applicable rules.

A staff housing must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
