Technical Project Manager for Tasiilaq
The Municipality of Sermersooq in Tasiilaq is looking for a technical project manager to manage operations and maintenance projects related to the municipality's overall building and construction assets in East Greenland.
You will be attached to our local administration in Tasiilaq, and your daily work will be based here. However, you should expect some travel activity to the municipality's other residential areas in East Greenland, as these also fall under the geographical responsibility of the position. Your daily reference will be to the municipality's Operations Manager in Tasiilaq.
As a technical project manager, you will have an independent and responsible job with good opportunities for professional and personal development. You will work on diverse and varied tasks and projects related to the municipality's overall building and construction assets in East Greenland, including renovations, refurbishments, and maintenance of the municipality's buildings and facilities as well as smaller construction projects.
Your main tasks will be:
·Initiating, ensuring progress, and following up on various operations and maintenance projects in East Greenland, including responsibility for managing time, quality, and finances
·Ongoing assessment of maintenance needs related to the municipality's overall building and construction assets in East Greenland
·Providing local input to the municipality's operations and construction budget
·Conducting inspections and ensuring the execution of tasks and projects within the agreed frameworks
·Constructive collaboration with colleagues, both locally in Tasiilaq and in Nuuk, regarding tasks and projects
·Ad hoc tasks, primarily related to the operation and maintenance of the municipality's buildings and facilities
Your professional and personal competencies:
·Experience with operations, maintenance, and project management
·Basic understanding of construction technology and accounting
·Familiarity with the use of IT, primarily the Office suite
·You can handle many tasks simultaneously
·You can communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally
·You have a high degree of independence, are positive, engaged, and responsible
·You demonstrate flexibility regarding work tasks
∙Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement
Additionally, you must be prepared for a workday that is often unpredictable, which requires you to switch between different tasks throughout the day while still maintaining an overview. You should possess the ability to coordinate and thrive on being involved in many different tasks and projects.
Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal record check. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
Relocation travel:
Upon employment, free relocation travel will be provided for the employee and their family, and the corresponding departure travel will be provided no earlier than after 3 years, as well as moving compensation according to applicable rules.
Housing:
Housing can be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc., will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the properties of the Government of Greenland and the municipality in Greenland. If permanent housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, temporary housing will be offered to employees entitled to vacation housing, for which rent, utilities, etc., will be paid according to the above. The start date is dependent on when housing is available. Relocation travel and moving expenses will be provided according to applicable rules.
