The Center for Counseling and Family Treatment works to strengthen well-being and development in children, young people, and their families through counseling, family treatment, and targeted supportive efforts. We are a professionally strong center focused on early intervention, interdisciplinary collaboration, and holistic solutions.
About the position:
We are looking for two social pedagogical mentors who are passionate about making a difference for families in need of support. As a social pedagogical mentor, you will be a central part of the department's work in developing and implementing initiatives that strengthen families' competencies and support children's well-being.
Your workplace will be in the Department for Families and Supportive Initiatives. The department offers support to families who need help closely in their daily lives. The initiatives often take place in the home or in the family's local environment and focus on strengthening the family's own resources.
In the department, we work closely together across professional groups.
Your tasks will include:
·Conducting home-based family programs
·Working based on action plans and goals set by the responsible authority
-Developing development plans with goals and sub-goals for the families
·Supporting and guiding parents in daily structure, relationships, parental roles, and parenting strategies
·Documenting the efforts and contributing to professional assessments
·Engaging in close collaboration with internal and external partners
We expect that you:
·Have a relevant social education (e.g., educator, advisor, therapist, or similar)
·Have experience with family work or supportive initiatives
·Can work holistically, structured, and independently
·Are strong in relationship work and can build trust in vulnerable families
·Are strong in interdisciplinary collaboration
·Have good written and oral communication skills in Greenlandic
·Thrive in a dynamic everyday life with both planned and urgent tasks
·Are mentally and physically robust and can maintain an overview and professionalism in a busy everyday life characterized by diverse and sometimes complex situations
∙Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement

Criminal and child certificate:
The position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.
The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/contract applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
