The Consumer and Competition Authority is seeking two lawyers for the business department. The position involves legal guidance, analysis, and legislative work. We are looking for individuals with experience from politically governed organizations who can handle complex cases and thrive in a busy work environment.

The Consumer and Competition Authority is seeking 2 results-oriented and versatile lawyers for our business department.

The position involves legal guidance, analysis, legislative work, and coordinating functions. We are looking for legal employees with case handling experience or experience from a politically governed organization.

You must have drive, social engagement, and thrive on tasks where the solutions are not always given in advance. You should be able to understand new issues and help find solutions in complex cases – even when we have not tried it before.

At the same time, you should be able to thrive in a busy everyday life with many tasks. This requires your ability to plan, structure, and prioritize, as well as being proactive and seeking to ensure progress in your tasks.

There may be a possibility of employment as a specialist or chief consultant depending on experience.

About the job
You will have a central role in the department for competition and procurement, where you will be responsible for legal authority and development tasks.

You should also be prepared to engage in new tasks across the authority.

Your tasks will include:

  • Legal legislative work and consultation with other authorities
  • Legal analyses – both short, operational analyses and larger, in-depth analyses in complex cases
  • Project management and/or participation in projects
  • Cross-departmental coordination with other departments and authorities
  • General legal tasks

Qualification requirements:
You have a legal master's degree (cand.jur. or cand.merc.jur.) and preferably experience with one or more of the following:

  • Experience from or insight into a politically governed organization and political decision-making processes
  • Interest in and preferably experience with projects, legislation, and case handling
  • Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex issues clearly – both in writing and verbally
  • Independent and solution-oriented approach with an overview of larger tasks and projects
  • Ability to work structured and shift focus as needed
  • Flexibility, thoroughness, and analytical approach to task solving
  • Good communication skills in Danish and English
  • Ability to collaborate with many different actors, even with conflicting interests

Salary and employment conditions
Salary - and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of employment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
For an applicant with the right verifiable competencies, employment may occur as a specialist consultant, chief consultant, or senior advisor in accordance with the applicable collective agreement

Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
