Atuarfik Inussuk is looking for dedicated support staff for part-time positions. The school focuses on development and learning for approximately 1,000 students. We are seeking individuals with educational experience or relevant background who can support children's development and well-being.

Atuarfik Inussuk is looking for engaged and caring support staff.

The positions are part-time positions of 20 hours per week.


About Atuarfik Inussuk:

You will be part of a school with approximately 1,000 students spread across grades 1-10 and with 9 special classes. We are a brand new school in development, and in the coming years, we will have a strong focus on 21st-century skills, project-based learning, teamwork, quality development, and strengthening students' academic levels.

The school's vision is to create students who can be creative, cooperative, think critically, have digital literacy, possess good communication skills, and can work interdisciplinary.

The school's vision for learning environments is to increase professionalism, stimulate learning and well-being for each individual, support a different kind of learning than the traditional, and create a teaching environment where we start from each student's needs and give the student a desire to learn.

We expect you to:

∙Be trained as a support staff or have an educational background preferably with supplementary knowledge of diagnoses and disabilities. Or unskilled with experience in working with children and youth, preferably with practical skills in providing assistance.

∙Be robust, patient, kind, good at collaboration, stable, responsible, and respectful.

∙Be able to take responsibility and work independently.

∙Be cooperative with colleagues and parents, and you are willing to engage in pedagogical discussions about our work.

∙Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.


Essential job tasks:

∙Generally support and train the child in relation to their psychological, physical, and social development.

∙Provide social pedagogical support according to the goals set in the child's action plan.

∙Assist with daily tasks in daycare, wherever the child is.

∙Train the child in increased independence.

∙Participate in staff meetings.

∙Participate in supervision.

∙Participate in status meetings with the administration and parents.

∙Collaborate with other staff at the child's location.

∙Prepare status reports.

Criminal and Child Certificate:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the national police and the criminal certificate from the police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the police.


Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.


The employment will be subject to a 3-month probationary period.


Housing:

No housing can be offered for the position.
