The School:

You will be part of a school with approximately 1,000 students ranging from grades 1 to 10 and with 9 special classes. We are a brand new school in development, and in the coming years, we will focus heavily on 21st-century skills, project-based learning, teamwork, quality development, and strengthening students' academic levels.

The school's vision is to create students who can be creative, collaborative, think critically, possess digital literacy, have good communication skills, and can work interdisciplinary.

The school's vision for learning environments is to increase professionalism, stimulate learning and well-being for each individual, support a different kind of learning than the traditional, and create a teaching environment where we start from each student's needs and inspire them to learn.

The school currently consists of 92 employees divided into 4 grades, namely grades 1-3, 4-7, 8-10, and a special department/grade 4. There is a school principal, three vice principals, and 4 grade leaders with a coordinator for special classes. The positions are full-time.

Currently, we are looking for a teacher for grade 4 (Special Department) with many different competencies.

You must be prepared for close teamwork with the other teachers in the team and in the department, as well as maintain close contact with parents.

Criminal and Child Certificate:
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police, as well as the criminal certificate from the Police.
The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and Employment Conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

There will be the possibility of assigning staff housing for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc., will be paid according to the rules for rent payment in the properties of the Government of Greenland and the municipality in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, temporary staff housing will be offered to employees entitled to vacation housing, for which rent, utilities, etc., will be paid according to the above. The start date is dependent on when staff housing is available. A relocation travel allowance and moving expenses will be provided according to applicable rules.
