Educator

The Municipality of Sermersooq is seeking a skilled and dedicated educator for the Nuka Daycare Center, with start date to be agreed upon.

There is space for 40 children in the Nuka Daycare. Where there are 20 children in each room.

For children between 3-6 years old.

Opening hours at the daycare institution Nuka: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Staff allocation per room: Educated pedagogue or similar, social worker assistant, and one helper.

A kitchen assistant, cleaning assistant, and manager.

The content of the position:

A trained educator or similar, the employee will participate in the kindergarten and in the classroom, and will work on the tasks mentioned below:

Someone who can take full responsibility when the leader, deputy manager, or educator is not present.

·Role model for other colleagues;

·Who can collaborate closely with the users.

Can work in accordance with Inatsisartut Act No. 62 of November 20, 2023.

The tasks are prepared together with other employees and the parents.

The objectives of the Municipality of Sermersooq for children:

Curious, robust, healthy, and happy children.

The characteristics of the daycare institution Nuka:

Health, going for walks outside every day, healthy diet, exercise, Kammagiitta.

Particular focus on preschool children, as well as having joint activities with the children, employees, and parents every month.

Expectations for applicants:

You must be educated as a pedagogue or similar.

It is necessary that you are hardworking and that you are attentive to the tasks.

It is important to be able to collaborate with others.

It is necessary that you have a desire to create new things as well as a desire to experiment.

It is necessary to be fond of children and to be present with children.

You work equally with the employees.

Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal record from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
