We develop children in the daycare, and we are continuously involved in developing leadership and organization. Here in the institution, we emphasize having close communication, and we are focused on the development and well-being of each child and group.

It is the Municipality of Sermersooq's goal to develop curious, resilient, and happy children; these are our fundamental principles for developing the children. We do this by discussing our educational objectives and how we can realize them.

Development of children based on the children's skills

To use appreciative pedagogy to develop children at their level, and to develop children based on their skills.

To train the children in speech, acquisition, and the ability to be with others, by using the 7 basic principles.

We use the Kammagiitta suitcase (anti-bullying materials) in various activities where we learn about respect, closeness, setting boundaries, and being able to stand up.

We use educational sports so that children can learn to control their motor skills and learn to make decisions.

Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

About the kindergarten:

The integrated daycare institution Paarsisoq is designed for 90 children divided into six groups. The staff ratio is 22, which includes: a manager, an assistant manager, four educators, six social workers, six assistants, a cleaning assistant, and two nutrition assistants.

The daycare center was taken into use on November 6, 1969.

The daycare is open from 07:00 to 17:00 and is located in the center of Nuuk.

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal record and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal record from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

No housing can be provided for the position.
