The nursery Ungaavaraq is looking for a dedicated pilot to work with children daily. We focus on children's development and well-being through appreciative pedagogy and educational sports. We offer a collaborative and respectful work environment with good communication between staff and parents.
SEARCH THIS POSITION Are you committed to working as a deputy manager and having leadership responsibilities, and are you interested in working with children on a daily basis? Then we need you in the nursery "Ungaavaraq".
We develop children in the daycare, and we are continuously involved in developing leadership and organization. Here in the institution, we emphasize having close communication, and we are focused on the development and well-being of each individual child and groups.
It is the goal of Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq to develop curious, resilient, and happy children, in accordance with Inatsisartut Act no. 62 on pedagogically developing daycare services for preschool children, these are our fundamental principles for developing the children, we do this by discussing our educational objectives and how we can realize them.

Development of children based on the children's skills
To use appreciative pedagogy to develop children at their level, and to develop children based on their skills.
To practice the children in speech, acquisition, and the ability to be with others, by using the 7 fundamental principles.
We use the Kammagiitta suitcase (anti-bullying materials) in various activities where we learn about respect, closeness, setting boundaries, and being able to stand up.
We use pedagogical sports so that children can learn to control their motor skills and learn to make decisions.

That you can take responsibility when there are missing staff in the wards or when the kitchen staff is absent.
That you are good at using computers, but it is not a requirement.
Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.
About the nursery:
The nursery Ungaavaraq is designed for 48 children divided into 4 groups, which also has a good view, is nice to enter, and has a good atmosphere. The staff ratio is 15, which includes: Leader, Deputy, 3 Educators, 4 Social Assistants, 4 Assistants, 1 Floater, and 1 Kitchen Assistant.
The nursery was taken into use on December 15, 2010.
The nursery's opening hours are from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and it is located in the middle of Nuuk in Radiofjeldet.
Criminal and Child Certificate:
The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal record and child certificate. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal record from the Police.
The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/contract in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
