About Opportunity
The U.S. Consulate Nuuk seeks a motivated Project Management Assistant (Development Assistance) to support our vital foreign assistance programs in Greenland. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to U.S. diplomatic efforts in the Arctic region.
Please note that this position is based in Nuuk, Greenland. The work schedule for this position is full-time, 40 hours per week.
What You'll Do
Project and Activity Management Support
-
Support management, monitoring, and evaluation of programs to ensure they meet U.S. Government goals
-
Assist with budget planning, cost estimation, and financial tracking in compliance with Department of State regulations.

Coordinate with the Financial Management Office to track funding, expenditures, and payments to Implementing Partners.

Work closely with implementation teams and stakeholders to keep projects aligned with USG objectives.

Provide communications support to the team, Implementing Partners, and stakeholders.

Coordinate with Public Diplomacy and Communications Teams to highlight program success stories through social media and other channels.

Draft compelling content, guides, infographics, and presentations that showcase project achievements.

Develop and maintain organized documentation systems (electronic and hard copy) in compliance with record management guidelines.

Coordinate travel and logistics for temporary duty staff, USG officials, and site visits.

Arrange meetings with Greenlandic economic organizations and officials, including appointments and logistical coordination.

Provide Danish-English interpretation as needed

Support development of Country Operational Plans and strategic initiatives

Assist in data gathering, analysis, and basic feasibility reviews

Participate in workshops and planning sessions to support program development.
You'll work directly under the supervision of the Principal Officer at the U.S. Consulate Nuuk, supporting Department of State assistance programs. This role offers exposure to diplomatic operations, international development, and Arctic policy.
Qualification Requirements
Education
Two years of university or college studies required.
Experience
Minimum two years of experience providing program and administrative support with international assistance programs within the U.S. Government or equivalent work with a private or host-government entity. Experience should include information collection and analysis in an office environment.
Language Requirements
English and Danish: Fluent
Good working knowledge
Required Skills

Interpret technical requirements, monitor and evaluate project execution and partner performance, review invoices, and inspect project deliverables.

Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to work effectively in a bilingual environment and communicate persuasively with stakeholders.

Develop and maintain working-level contacts with host government institutions to negotiate program goals and action plans.

Analyze financial data, track budgets, and ensure financial accountability.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Gmail, Google suite, or equivalent software
