Nanortalik School is seeking a skilled teacher to start on August 1, 2026, or by mutual agreement.
We are looking for a motivated teacher who can teach Danish, English, practical music subjects, as well as take on a class teacher role. However, we are open to all subject combinations, and the right person is more important than the composition of subjects. Here, we work together as a team, and we are looking for someone who cares about the students, their subjects, and their colleagues.
Nanortalik School
Nanortallip Atuarfia has 175 students and currently has 18 teachers.
Nanortallip Atuarfia has good tools, good collaboration, and not least surrounded by fascinating nature with great opportunities for excursions. Nanortallip Atuarfia has an annual program about Pilineq (provisions) with its own learning objectives, in which the whole school participates.
You will be involved in working with teaching using iPads. We use Clevertouch smart screens for teaching.
Each grade has its own focus areas that are worked on intensively throughout the school year.
We meet regularly in subject teams, grade levels, and class teams to plan, coordinate, and support each other.

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has obtained a child certificate.
The child certificate will be part of the municipality's assessment of who should be hired for the position.
EMPLOYMENT ON FAVORABLE TERMS
Employment is based on the agreement of May 25, 2021, between the Government of Greenland and IMAK. For applicants who are already civil servants in Greenland, this form of employment can be continued.
To attract qualified applicants, employment is offered under the Agreement on Employment on Special Fixed-Term Conditions. This means in practice that the employee and their family are granted a holiday trip after every 12 months of employment according to the applicable rules. In addition, a severance amount of 18,000 DKK per year of employment at 1991 levels is deposited into a closed account. The severance amount is paid out after the termination of employment.
Personnel housing
Housing can be allocated for which rent and deposit are paid according to applicable rules.
Induction trip
A free relocation travel is provided for the newly hired employee and their family, and after at least 3 years of employment, a severance travel and moving of household goods is provided according to applicable regulations.
