The Center for Counseling and Family Treatment in Nuuk is seeking a dedicated psychologist or therapist for therapy and treatment tasks. The position is a permanent full-time role, where you will work with children, youth, and families in vulnerable situations. Municipality of Sermersooq – Department for Children and Family: Center for Counseling and Family Treatment in Nuuk is seeking a dedicated and professionally strong psychologist or therapist for therapy and treatment tasks. The position is a permanent full-time position.
About the Center for Counseling and Family Treatment:
The center works holistically with children, young people, and families who need support to manage social and psychological challenges. We consist of four specialized teams focused on:
Therapy and treatment
Early Intervention and Counseling
Families and supportive initiatives
Department for Group Services
We are now looking for a psychologist who wants to make a difference for children, young people, and families in vulnerable positions while also contributing to a strong professional environment in development. Your immediate supervisor will be the head of the therapy and treatment department, with whom you will collaborate. You will be working with 6 other colleagues.
Your tasks will include, among other things:
Individual and group-based therapy sessions for children, adolescents, and parents
Family therapy and parental guidance
·Assessment and psychological evaluations
Preparation of treatment plans and documentation
Collaboration with interdisciplinary partners and participation in meetings with authorities
Contribute to professional development and knowledge sharing in the team.

Is strong in interdisciplinary collaboration and builds trust in relationships.
·Has an interest in both treatment-related and administrative tasks
Can work independently and take professional responsibility
Is flexible and can think creatively in complex issues.
Meets others with empathy, respect, and a positive view of humanity.
·Has experience with IT systems and documentation
·Can speak Greenlandic and Danish – this is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Criminal and child certificate:
The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal record from the Police.
The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.
