Department Manager

The Elderly Care Home is seeking a manager for its dementia department. The position requires a caregiver for the elderly, focusing on thoughtful and respectful care. Experience in management and education as a health assistant is expected. The job offers autonomy and the opportunity to make an impact, with working hours from 8 AM to 4 PM.

The Utoqqaat illuat Ajarsivasik is looking for a manager in the Ivimmi department for the elderly care.

The employment will commence on March 1, 2026, or earlier by mutual agreement.

About Ajarsivasik

The elderly home Ajarsivasik is located in the southern municipality of Qaqortoq.

The nursing home has three sections, two for regular care and one for memory care, with a total of 48 places. The memory care section has 11 places. The other two sections have 18 and 19 places, respectively.

We live in a place where we work together with three different teams. The staff at the Elderly Home have various qualifications, including health assistants, health helpers, nurses, and many who are untrained.

  • Health assistant training or equivalent education in health, with management experience.
  • You are working and interested in the service for the elderly.
  • Your ability to participate in tasks in the workplace and your willingness to do so.
  • You are ready to take action when it comes to making a difference.
  • You are allowed to speak in both Greenlandic and Danish, but this is not a requirement.
  • You must be skilled in collaborating on your work areas.
  • You are eager to participate in the improvement of the community and to contribute to the correspondence.
  • You want to participate in the training for those interested in working with children and for trainees.
  • You are actively participating in the development of innovative, creative, and thoughtful solutions for the future.
  • You can work independently, be responsible, and be service-minded.
