Intern in the Department – Administration for Welfare and Labor Market

We are looking for a motivated and skilled intern for the Department of Welfare and Labor Market in the Municipality of Sermersooq.

In the staff, we support the political committees, the director, and the department heads across areas such as elderly care, social psychiatry, and disabilities, as well as the labor market sector.

As an intern in the Staff, you will help ensure structured processes and a solid basis for decision-making for both our politicians and the management of the administration.

You will among other things come to:

·To work with written presentations, including case presentations, notes, analyses, consultation responses, etc.

·To participate in projects – for example, decision proposals for policy or sector plans

·To service councils (citizen involvement) and committees (assessment, cross-cutting coordination)

·Ad-hoc tasks

We emphasize professionalism and delivering tasks that make sense. Therefore, there is room to share your views, discuss both the task and the broader perspectives, or deepen your expertise together with a colleague.

We also emphasize that it is pleasant to go to work, and we can support your learning during the internship. The duration is organized according to your study program.

Expectations for applicants:

·That you are studying social sciences at the master's level or in the final year of your bachelor's degree.

·That you have an interest in the social sector

·That you are interested in working in a politically governed organization

·That you are professionally skilled and eager to become even better

·That you can work independently

·That you can ask for help and sparring

The working hours are 40 hours a week.

Criminal record:

This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record.

We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

The position is unpaid, as the intern is expected to receive educational support during the internship period.

No housing can be provided for the position.
