Your tasks
With reference to the head of Enforcement and Security, you will have the daily responsibility for the operation and development of security throughout the organization.
The tasks will be diverse, and you will have both fixed areas of responsibility and responsibility for changing tasks and projects.
Safety standards and security techniques, preparedness, as well as planning and conducting exercises are some of the tasks you will be responsible for. You will need to prepare for and participate in safety inspections and ensure follow-up. We expect you to monitor and follow up on issued standards and safety instructions and continuously develop and maintain employees' general safety awareness and operational competencies. You will also need to update emergency plans in the institutions and ensure that employees have the necessary knowledge of them.

Who are you?
We are looking for a security and emergency preparedness consultant who has a strong professional profile in the field of security and emergency preparedness, and who is skilled at coordinating, systematizing, and managing security and emergency preparedness work together with management and employees. You have a relevant education, such as a correctional officer, prison officer, police officer, or relevant education or extensive and documented experience in the emergency preparedness field. You know your craft, and you feel at home in a politically governed organization. You are good at focusing on individual elements while also maintaining an overview in larger contexts. You are approachable and skilled at communicating both verbally and in writing, and you are proactive, attentive, and execution-oriented. You contribute to and place a high value on a good working environment and good colleague relationships. You have an eye for building good relationships with our stakeholders, both internal and external, and you thrive in interaction with them.
In addition, it is expected that you can manage cultural and linguistic differences as a condition, and that a significant part of the job consists of periodically visiting and staying at the institutions in order to provide the best possible support for the tasks. Therefore, a considerable amount of travel activity is to be expected.
Who are we?
The Prison and Probation Service in Greenland has approximately 150 full-time employees, distributed across 6 cities, along with a number of individuals who are contracted to perform tasks for us on an hourly wage. These individuals are employed throughout the country. The largest employee group consists of prison officers. In addition, we have hired social workers, employment consultants, teachers, psychologists, a psychiatrist, a nurse, office staff, lawyers, and assistants. The Prison and Probation Service is also a training facility. We train our own prison officers.

Salary and employment conditions
Employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement or on an individual contract, depending on your educational background.
If you are currently employed as a civil servant, you retain your civil servant employment.
The employment area is civil service positions in Greenland under the state, Greenland's home rule, or a municipality.
The workplace is the Danish Prison and Probation Service in Greenland, Headquarters, Qullilerfik 2, 5., P.O. Box 369, 3900 Nuuk.
The task is carried out at the headquarters in Nuuk, but also at all the organization's locations as needed, so you should expect business trips to the Danish Prison and Probation Service's other locations in Greenland. The position is a full-time position with an average working time of 40 hours per week.

It is a requirement for employment that you give your consent during the interview for us to obtain and assess information about you from the Central Criminal Register.
