We are looking for a technical generalist who can manage smaller projects, train clinicians in new systems, write notes, and assist with mini-tenders. You will work with IT & Digitalization at Queen Ingrid's Hospital in Nuuk and engage with colleagues, clinicians, and external partners.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR THIS POSITION We are looking for a technically minded generalist who can both project manage smaller projects, teach clinicians about new systems, write a note, and assist with a mini tender. All at once and with a smile on their face. A good sense of humor is a great advantage.
Your role
Across Greenland and in Denmark, more than 1,600 skilled and hard-working colleagues in the Greenlandic healthcare system rely on their IT systems in a busy everyday life.
Your role is to ensure that the relevant stakeholders (both internal and external) are involved in both the ongoing dialogue and in connection with new projects or changes to existing systems, that needs are described thoroughly and meaningfully, that complex problems are solved within a reasonable time (but not necessarily by you), and that we communicate clearly and quickly with the rest of the organization as well as relevant external partners.
What do we understand by a generalist? Well, if you have a good knowledge of SharePoint and information sharing, you are the one we are looking for. If you are sharp on clinical applications, you are also the one we want. If you immediately roll up your sleeves when you hear about a new system that was supposed to be operational on Monday, but which IT & Digitalization is only hearing about now, you will also find your place with us. A note on how the replacement of old equipment is going, as well as an updated budget for this, is no problem. If the pharmacy calls again because there is a problem with label printing, you think, “there must be a better solution to this, who should we involve.” And if you are also good at AI, we are very receptive (but a bit conservative). Finally, experience with RPA and automation and optimization of workflows will be well received.
But we don't expect you to be able to do it all.
Depending on your wishes and skills, other tasks or areas of responsibility may also be added to the position.
As an AC officer, you will have a daily routine with many different tasks, and you will be in dialogue with both your colleagues in IT & Digitalization, clinicians in Nuuk and along the coast, medical technology, the technical department, and external technicians and consultants. The operation of data networks and servers is outsourced, but there will occasionally be a need to involve the operational partners in connection with changes.
Organizational placement
Your workplace will be the Digitalization Office under IT & Digitalization at Queen Ingrid's Hospital in Nuuk, reporting to IT manager André Just Vedgren. Business travel is to be expected in connection with training and courses in both Greenland and Denmark.
About us
IT & Digitalization is a staff function for the entire Greenlandic Healthcare System consisting of Operations and service desk, the EHR office (which is responsible for support and development of our EHR system) as well as the Digitalization office, where you will be placed. There will be close collaboration with the entire staff.
Your background
We expect you to have a higher education at the master's level, preferably technical. However, it is more important that you are good at communicating with people and being a "translator" between the clinical and technical worlds than that you are Nuuk's sharpest technician. In return, you need to understand the technology in order to grasp its possibilities and consequences and ensure that the Greenlandic healthcare system derives the greatest possible benefit from it.
For the sake of communication with IT suppliers, you must at a minimum be proficient in Danish and English, both in writing and speaking.
The applicant with the appropriate verifiable qualifications may be employed as a special consultant in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
