The nursing home in the Municipality is seeking an assistant manager for the home care leader. You will be responsible for approximately 100 home care users and co-responsible for the management and coordination of home care aides. Experience in the healthcare sector is desired but not required. Employment will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
The nursing home in the Municipality – The retirement home – Home care as well as the day care center has space for 6. The deputy manager, together with the manager, is responsible for the home care office and shares responsibility for the manager's areas of responsibility.
You will be responsible for about 100 home care users in the towns and in the villages (Kitsissuarsuit, Akunnaaq, and Ikamiut) and will provide them with advice.
You will also be co-responsible in the home care management, as well as for subordinate support staff, people who fetch water and solar, and those who help shovel for the elderly in the cities. The management consists of: the head of the home care office, the ADh director, the deputy for sick leave professional matters, the dementia department, the kitchen manager, the office, etc.
Areas of responsibility:
Daily management and coordination of home care assistants, according to legislation and regulations, as well as assessment of support measures for clients and referrals regarding home care services.
Participation in the meetings at the nursing home/external employees.
We expect that you can:
·Health assistant or Nurse (or has many years of work experience without specific education)
·You coordinate your daily work yourself and can handle daily management and are good at finding solutions in accordance with the law.
Can work in busy situations and can take on weekly shifts (on-call at home if needed) along with the other leaders.
Can advise care/support staff according to the conditions applicable in Greenland.
Experience/continuing education in management (is not a requirement)
Education in the healthcare sector
Main tasks:
Planning of home care/care tasks, development/reassessment of tasks concerning elderly citizens in the cities.
Ordering of care materials (to a limited extent)
Presentation and training of new employees
·Train new employees and develop staff
Participate in further developing the workplace for interns.
Can help with caregiving/healthcare as well as general care in certain cases in the city.
Salary and employment conditions:
Employed according to the applicable collective agreement.
Housing cannot be provided for the position.
Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
