Social Worker

We offer a good and pleasant workplace. It is a school with two departments, one is affiliated with Atuarfik Samuel Kleinschmidt and the other called Heldagsskolen, located close to Nuussuup Atuarfia.

The office is located in Heldagsskolen, near Nuussuup Atuarfia. You will be working as a social worker in the school, which is divided into two departments.

The students in the Full-Day School have special needs and, for various reasons, cannot receive instruction in regular classes. The Full-Day School is a well-organized school that takes into account that all students benefit from the teaching that is tailored to their individual needs, and here the focus is on meeting the students' learning and development needs.

The school has about 80 students and approximately 62 staff members. They are distributed across the school's two departments.

The employed social worker must divide their work between the two departments.

The content of the position:

As the school's social worker, you will coordinate the social work for the students. Some of your tasks will include student and parent inquiries. Conducting student interviews and partly conducting parent interviews. Teachers may need advice and guidance regarding students.

To be considered for employment, the following is required:

·Educated social worker or similar

Experiences regarding the need

Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

·That one is good at talking to parents who have children with special needs

The social worker's areas of responsibility:

School and parental collaboration

·To be the contact person for the student regarding social tasks

·To be able to advise and guide teachers in relation to students

·To hold ongoing conversations with students in collaboration with parents

·To participate in creating action plans related to social work tasks

·Exchange with colleagues

·To contribute to promoting prevention, including in relation to the prevention of bullying

Collaboration with external partners, MISI, Peqqik also in relation to prevention.

Collaboration with guidance counselors

·Work closely with the leaders

·Lead and hold networking meetings

·To collaborate on preparedness

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal record from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
