The residential unit Seernaq in Nuuk is seeking a medication responsible health assistant or nurse for a full-time position. You will be responsible for medication management and health-related tasks for 19 residents with disabilities. We offer a good working environment and opportunities for professional development.

The position is a full-time job of 40 hours a week, primarily with day shifts and weekends off.
The residential unit Seernaq is one of the larger residential units in Nuuk and accommodates 19 residents with physical and/or mental disabilities, including developmental disabilities and autism.
We are focused on supporting the residents in their well-being, health, and daily life, so they can live a safe and meaningful life with the greatest possible independence.
You will be part of a dedicated staff group of about 19 employees with educational and health professional backgrounds, as well as unskilled workers. Collaboration, respect, and professionalism are central values in our work.
Your primary tasks will be:
To have the overall health professional responsibility in collaboration with the leader.
·To be responsible for medication in the residential unit, including handling, dispensing, and follow-up on medication.
·To plan and participate in ward rounds with the healthcare system as agreed and to follow up on medical assessments and treatments.
·To ensure proper documentation in accordance with applicable guidelines
·To observe, assess, and follow up on the residents' health status
·To collaborate with the healthcare system, doctors, relatives, and other partners
To introduce and train new employees in medication management according to applicable instructions.
To plan and hold brush-up sessions, theme days, or ongoing training in medication management for the staff group.
·To guide and support colleagues in health-related issues
To contribute to a high professional level and good interdisciplinary collaboration.
We expect that you:
·Is trained as a healthcare assistant or nurse
·Has experience with medication management and healthcare work
Can coordinate health professional initiatives, including ward rounds and follow-up.
·Works in a structured, responsible, and independent manner
·Has good collaboration skills and can positively contribute to the work environment.
Has an interest in working with adults with disabilities
Can maintain an overview and act professionally in different situations.
Has good documentation skills
Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

About us:
The housing unit Seernaq is part of a larger department that includes several housing units, residential offers, and support services in Nuuk, Tasiilaq, and Paamiut. We continuously work on developing professionalism, quality, and collaboration.
Job interviews are expected to be held in week 12.
Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
