We are seeking lawyers with an interest in employment law for the Agency for Economy and Personnel. You will work on a wide range of tasks within individual and collective employment law, including advisory, negotiations, and teaching. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. About the position
Personnel & Law is an office in the Agency for Economy and Personnel (ASA), where we advise and guide leaders in the central administration, subordinate entities, and the Greenlandic healthcare system on personnel legal matters. In addition, we help maintain, interpret, and renew existing agreements on behalf of the Self-Government and the Greenlandic municipalities.
Your main tasks as a personnel lawyer

Preparation of party hearings and decisions regarding written warnings, dismissals, and expulsions.

General advice and guidance for managers on employment law matters
-
Advising and interpreting collective agreements, civil servant legislation, as well as other laws, regulations, and circulars within the employment law area.

Negotiations for the renewal of agreements and collective agreements on behalf of the public Greenland
-
Conducting mediation meetings, among other things in connection with disciplinary cases, termination agreements, and disputes.

Handling of arbitration and court cases in collaboration with the house's lawyer

Preparation of employment law letters as well as guidelines and development of policies in the area.

Training of employees and managers in the Greenlandic Self-Government in basic employment law as well as ad hoc presentations on employment law and collective agreements.
You have/are:

Master of Laws/Master of Business Administration in Law/Bachelor of Laws with an interest in labor law

Good at collaborating, sparring, and sharing your knowledge with colleagues.

Personnel & Law is an office that, upon its establishment, consists of 8 personnel consultants and 3 personnel lawyers. Each personnel group has an office manager. Personnel & Law is an office that is organizationally placed within the Ministry of Finance and is part of the Government of Greenland.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
An unfurnished staff apartment can be assigned to the position according to the applicable rules at any given time. Housing cannot be assigned to individuals who already have a staff apartment or another property owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the assigned apartment. The staff apartment is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the property, ownership conditions, etc. There may be a waiting period for the allocation of permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller co-housing communities or hotel apartments, for which taxation applies. It is not possible to keep larger pets, such as dogs or cats, in staff or temporary housing.
