Office assistant sought for Payroll Service in the Greenlandic Self-Government
The Payroll Service in the Ministry of Finance and Personnel (ASA) is seeking a skilled and dedicated administrative officer. As an administrative officer in the Payroll Service, you will be involved in processing and issuing salaries for the entire Central Administration of the Greenland Self-Government and its underlying units.
The Economy and Personnel Agency is placed under the Department of Finance and Taxes in the Government of Greenland.
As an employee in Payroll Services, you will primarily work with hourly wages, but there will also be a need to solve tasks across the hourly wage and monthly salary areas. We can offer a well-functioning department that highly prioritizes collaboration, support, and shared learning.
There are a total of 10 employees in the payroll department, and you will report to the office manager for Payroll Services.
Your tasks will be:

Processing of salaries, including gross salary lists

Handling of inquiries via phone and email

Maintenance of employee master data

Organization and execution of payroll runs, including ensuring timely and accurate salary payments.

Participation in ongoing reporting of payroll data, including deviations.

Various administrative ad hoc tasks

You have experience from a similar position.

You have knowledge of various collective agreements and personal tax rules.

You thrive on interdisciplinary tasks.

You have a good knowledge of Excel.

You are thorough and quality-conscious.

You can work independently.

You master Greenlandic and Danish in writing and speech.

You have a higher education or are trained in office administration.
The position as an office assistant in Payroll Service is versatile and requires your understanding of accounting and your experience with payroll administration, as well as your ability to work in a structured and systematic manner. About ASA
The Economy and Personnel Agency, commonly referred to as ASA, is a joint service unit for the Government of Greenland. ASA currently has about 120 employees and is responsible for accounting, procurement policy, collective agreement matters, payroll, interpretation services, and building management.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
