A position as a court secretary at the Greenlandic High Court is available from August 1, 2026. The position is for you who are interested in a varied and independent job in a challenging professional environment, where we emphasize high quality.
As a court secretary, you will be trained to handle simpler case processing on your own and respond to inquiries from citizens and parties. You will also learn to draft letters, court records, and judgments in the cases handled by the appellate court's jurists.
A large part of your working hours will be spent organizing court hearings and business trips. The High Court travels approximately every other month to one of the larger Greenlandic cities to handle court cases, and you must be prepared to go on a business trip a few times a year.
Most of our workflows are digitalized. We primarily use Microsoft Office systems, Public 360, and a system that the courts themselves have developed for handling civil cases.
We expect you to be office trained and preferably bilingual. To be able to handle the job as a court secretary, you must be able to work independently and maintain focus in busy situations. We have an important function in Greenlandic society, and therefore you must be stable, meticulous, and willing to put in a committed effort.
The Court of Appeal's secretariat has 5 employees who work with case processing and servicing citizens throughout Greenland. In addition, we have 3 lawyers and one law student.
We emphasize a good working environment and we prefer our colleagues to be flexible, accommodating, service-minded, and have good collaboration skills.
Salary and employment conditions
The salary is determined according to the applicable agreement between SIK and the state for office staff or the agreement for HK-called office employees. On-call allowances are provided for mandatory on-call duty on weekends and public holidays.
We pay for relocation travel and moving expenses in accordance with the provisions of the agreement, and housing can be provided, for which you will need to pay rent etc. according to applicable rules.
