The Social Authority is seeking a director for the Angerlarsimaffik Palleq, a residential social pedagogical offer for adults with intellectual disabilities in Paamiut. The position involves leadership, administration, and development of pedagogical initiatives. We are looking for a qualified educator with leadership experience and knowledge of legislation.
The Social Authority is seeking a director for the Døgntilbud Angerlarsimaffik Palleq, with a start date of August 1, 2026, or by agreement.
Angerlarsimaffik Palleq is a nationwide social pedagogical residential facility for adults aged 18 and older, for individuals with intellectual disabilities who need support around the clock, located in Paamiut. Angerlarsimaffik Palleq is divided into 2 departments, where a total of 10 people can live. Each department houses 5 individuals. The building has 2 floors, and the residents live in rooms on the 1st floor. There is a guesthouse associated with the institution.
Angerlarsimaffik Palleq is a home for people with developmental disabilities, where many different developmental initiatives are carried out for the residents.
The institution's overall objective is to create a safe environment for the residents. This places high demands on the educational efforts, as there are many different needs that must be met on a daily basis. There is a focus on observation and training aimed at maximizing individual self-sufficiency.

Preferably bilingual Greenlandic/Danish
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
For an applicant with the right documentable competencies, employment as a special consultant, chief consultant, or senior advisor may occur in accordance with the applicable agreement.
Housing
An unfurnished staff housing can be allocated for the position according to the applicable rules at any given time. Housing cannot be allocated to individuals who already have staff housing or another property owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the allocated housing. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the property, ownership conditions, etc. There may be a waiting period for the allocation of permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller co-housing communities or hotel apartments, for which taxation applies. It is not possible to keep larger pets such as dogs or cats in staff or temporary housing.
Criminal record
The Social Authority reserves the right to obtain a criminal record. We therefore wish to point out that the employment can only take effect once the Social Authority has received a satisfactory criminal record from the Police.
