The Bishopric is seeking a Diocesan Office Manager.
A position as the diocesan office manager at the bishopric in Nuuk under the Government of Greenland is vacant and is to be filled by June 1, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter. We invite relevant candidates to ongoing interviews.
The bishopric handles both ecclesiastical and general administrative functions for the Church in Greenland.
Many diverse inquiries are directed to the office from both public authorities, priests, catechists, congregations, and others.
The body consists of the bishop, a diocesan office manager, an assistant, an office manager, and an office assistant.
The bishop is the highest authority of the office.
The head of the diocese office manages the daily operations of the diocese administration, including being the personnel officer for the Church of Denmark, responsible for the church's overall financial allocation and budgets, the bishop's personal legal advisor (amanuensis), a sparring partner for the deans, the daily supervisor of case processing at the bishop's office, an independent case handler at the bishop's office, and the contact with the ministry in financial and legal matters.
The position is to be filled by an academic employee, preferably a lawyer, with knowledge of and interest in both economics and church-related topics. Emphasis will be placed on personal qualities such as independence, flexibility, and situational awareness. It will be an advantage to have some knowledge of Greenlandic conditions.
Bilingual Greenlandic/Danish is preferred.
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation of household goods and travel allowances for arrival and departure, in accordance with the collective agreement in effect at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization. The position is fixed-term for 7 years with the possibility of administrative extension for an additional period.

Employment terms
The position is currently salary-fixed corresponding to 36. The salary with fixed salary components and personal contributions to the pension in LR 36 amounts to DKK 57,531 monthly and DKK 690,372 annually as of April 1, 2026.
Employment will primarily be on collective agreement terms, but if the applicant is already a civil servant under the civil service laws for public Greenland, employment may occur on civil servant terms.
For the position, there is no maximum length of service established, and the provisions regarding compensation for overtime and the provisions regarding compensation for lost days off do not apply; the working hours are initially 40 hours per week.
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
No housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned housing is retained. The housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
